TBLI Foundation

After playing an important role in creating a global sustainable finance movement for the past 16 years with 24 TBLI CONFERENCES, we are excited to see a groundswell of interest in ESG and Impact Investment around the globe, coming from such diverse groups as institutional investors, family offices, HNW, social entrepreneurs and academia.  To help advance the discussion and in line with our educational mission, we are scaling up our activities in ESG and Impact Investing to reach a wider audience – in the financial sector and beyond. In the coming years,
we plan to do the following:
  1. Improve the global outreach of TBLI CONFERENCES – by offering additional events, with increased content on emerging economies.
  2. Broaden the thematic scope of TBLI CONFERENCES by including special sessions on topics of regional and common interest.
  3. Publish the content of TBLI CONFERENCE workshops and plenaries via documentation and white-papers developed in cooperation with business schools,  and  making that content publicly available;
  4. Produce a Spotlight Video Series of 60-80 interviews with thought leaders and practitioners at TBLI CONFERENCE to be distributed online. The aim is to educate the investment community and the public, and to raise awareness on sustainable finance.
  5. Support the integration of sustainable finance into the curricula for business school students and executive education. We are partnering with selected business schools in Europe, Asia and the US.
To assist us in funding these efforts, we have created the TBLI Foundation.  TBLI Foundation is partnering with SharedImpact to receive grants and donations in a tax-efficient manner, as a non-profit entity (501(c)(3)) for donors in the United States, a registered charity for donors in the UK, a registered charity for donors in Hong Kong, and a charitable vehicle for The Netherlands.

I would like to ask for your help in these efforts by supporting TBLI Foundation through SharedImpact.

Thank you.

Robert

TBLI CONFERENCE™ USA Success

Out first TBLI CONFERENCE™ USA gave our entire team a huge energy boost.  It was inspiring to hear all the thought leaders coming together and sharing the latest research and thinking on ESG and Impact Investing. The atmosphere, food, location all were great. Especially loved the rooftop cocktail and dinner at Tribeca Rooftop. We had fantastic weather for our outdoor party.

Compliments to our keynote speakers Paul Rose, Martin Rappaport, and Richard Kauffman. All three were inspiring and I want to personally thank them for sharing their passion and commitment. I am particularly grateful to Paul Rose for doubling as moderator and challenging the panel and audience on climate change. Great job!

I personally want to thank our team Frank, Stephen, Stephanie, Iris and especially Libby. You guys make it all look easy. Thank you.

It was especially fulfilling to have my mother experience a TBLI Conference for the first time. Now she can give a better answer to people asking what does your son do, rather than “well he is not a bar playing cards.”

Most important thanks to my wife Rieki who has been a spiritual lifeline. Thank you.

TBLI Friends

Recently a dear friend of mine Mizue Tsukushi, the founder of Good Bankers and often considered the godmother of SRI in Japan, came to visit. It was a joy seeing her and spending some quality time together.  We met many years ago, just about the time when I started TBLI. After reminiscing  on all the wonderful times we had together a warm feeling came over me. We have made many friends who all shared the same passion of creating an economy based upon well being, including: Mizue Tsukushi, George Curby, Tessa Tennant, Mark Campanale, Giulio Franzinetti, John Elkington, Leo Johnson, Toni Symonds, Amy Domini, Barbara Krumsieck, Josh Mailman, Wayne Silby, Wouter van Dieren, Karl Henrik Robert, Michael Braungarten, Jo Sawicki, Ida Beerhalter, Maria Cavalcanti, Mariko Kawaguchi, Stephen Brenninkmeijer, Thierry Sanders, Ian Williams, Angela de Wolf, Robert Barker, Erol Bilecen, Grace Kataoka, Rachel Kyte, Albrecht Matuschka, Michael Madden, Thomas Cauchois, Paul Rose, Ewoud Goudswaard, Gloria Nelund, James Gifford, Paul Clements Hunt and hundreds of others that have helped TBLI along the way with our mission.

To all those friends, family and acquaintances, thank you for helping and giving me the inspiration and strength to persevere and bring TBLI CONFERENCE™ to Wall Street.  Looking forward to greeting you all in New York, June 17-18.
