Creating 200 million social enterprises

Inspiration

Last week, I was honoured and inspired to meet Ernesto Sirolli. Ernesto is a social entrepreneur and founder of the Sirolli Insititute, who developed the concept  of “Enterprise Facilitation”. For 27 years, Ernesto has been creating enterprises in emerging markets focussing on a few simple concepts:

  • Shut up and listen
  • Only respond to people who want to be helped
  • Don’t motivate local entrepreneur. Facilitate to help them achieve their dreams
  • Respect the wishes of the local entrepreneur.
  • Servant of local people who have a dream to be better person
  • Local person must have own passion
  • Find knowledge to achieve dream of entrepreneur
  • Direct support using extremely low cost and basic infrastructure

His results are quite phenomenal. He has been able to achieve 200 enterprises for each enterprise facilitator. Imagine if you could create 1.000, 10.000, 100.000 or 1 million enterprise facilitators. Ernesto kindly agreed to speak at an upcoming TBLI Conference .

TBLI Foundation

I am exceptionally happy with the response and support we have received for TBLI Foundation. Thank you and I hope you will also support the work of TBLI Foundation.

TBLI Foundation will financially support TBLI Conferences. Content from the ongoing conference series will be more broadly available to investment professionals and the public via reports, webinars, white-papers and video interviews. Partnerships with educational institutions and like-minded nonprofits will also be created. The geographic scope of the conferences will expand to emerging markets.

Importantly, the Foundation will implement a digital model to facilitate access to content and interactions among participants in the community.

TBLI Foundation is establishing academic partnerships with selected leading international business schools to host the conferences, with participation expanded to include students and alumni. To date, TBLI academic partners include The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, NYU Stern School of Business,  BI-Norwegian Business School, Copenhagen Business School, Hult International Business School, Free University Amsterdam, Meiji University (Japan), Florida International University and several others will be confirmed shortly.
